The Executive Committee is a team of dedicated chapel members who freely give their time, skills, and hearts to support the mission and ministries of the chapel. Because they serve as volunteers, their leadership reflects a spirit of generosity, humility, and shared responsibility.

Pastor Jim Burnett - Hello to everyone, and thank you for taking a look at The Village Chapel website. I am Pastor Jim Burnett and I have been the pastor for the Village Chapel since September 2022. My wife, Kay and I have worked in full-time ministry over the last 30 years and are excited about being part of The Village Chapel family. Please consider joining us in person at The Village Chapel – we would love to get to know you personally, and you will enjoy the genuine love and friendship you will experience with the wonderful congregation of The Village Chapel. Curt Weber -- Hi! I'm Curt Weber and I was elected to serve as Moderator of the Village Chapel's Executive Committee beginning in January 2026. I am humbled by the trust this church has placed in me. Before we retired in 2009, my wife Eva (of 54 years and counting) and I owned and operated a motel in Fort Pierre South Dakota. Later we built a Super 8 in Sisseton, South Dakota. In 2013 we bought our house in SVE and sometime after that we started attending this church. From the first day we attended we felt welcome. It is my goal as Moderator to work with others to ensure that everone feels welcome at this church.

Vic Hannig -- My name is Vic Hannig and I am honored to be selected as Vice Moderator of the Village Chapel. My wife and I moved to SVE over 20 years ago and after trying out several churches in the area, we found comfort and a sense of feeling very welcome in The Village Chapel. Over the years I have owned several businesses, the last as an aircraft broker. Currently I volunteer on the board of directors of the Bocce club and a member on the Architectural Control Committee for SVE. I enjoy attending The Village Chapel and I look forward to serving its congregation.

Dave Tohlen -- -- Greetings! My name is Dave Tohlen and I am currently the Secretary for the Chapel’s Executive Committee. Previously I served a combined four years as the Moderator and Vice Moderator for the Chapel. I've served on many church committees and councils as a member of the United Methodist Church. I retired as an Officer in the Air Force after 27 years, then completed a second career as a Department of Defense contractor. Most recently, I was a member of the board of directors for two nonprofit organizations providing life-essential assistance to military veterans and their families. My wife, Diana, and I are from Colorado Springs and have been residents of SVE since 2015.

Leila Jo Wiebe -- Hey there! My name is Leila Jo Wiebe, LJ for short. I am the Treasurer for the Chapel's Executive Committee. I’ve served on many roles in the churches I have attended, starting with Youth staff member, Singles coordinator, to Small Groups coordinator, and Project Manager. I'm excited to serve the needs of the Chapel in support of all the members of the congregation.

While leading the Singles ministry, "that man" came into my life. On our 1-year anniversary, we moved to Arizona. We moved to SVE in 2013, and my husband passed away after 24 years of marriage. Retirement from the State of Arizona came shortly afterwards. I enjoy the activities of the SVE community and love getting to know my neighbors.
